Several years back I made some mid eighteen sixti-ish work dresses for a textile museum in Connecticut. They were simple one-size-fits-all outfits for employees to wear. This was pretty exciting for me, my work being worn at a real museum! The dresses have also made an appearance at the Big E Fair which I understand is a fairly big fair.By now though, I’d mostly forgotten about these dresses but it turns out that their story has another chapter.
They were used in a temporary exhibit on American work clothes from Colonial times through Present.
And flanking the board…
Sure, not the most glamorous but I’m proud of where these little dresses have gone! There’s even a sign with my name on it.
